CNS Defensive Carbine 1 is a two day, live fire course designed for the novice carbine owner. The first four hours will be classroom instruction covering topics such as, nomenclature, care and cleaning, equipment / accessory options, and sights. Then, we will be at the range for the afternoon of day #1 and all day for day #2. Bring your rifle, safety equipment (ear protection, sun block and eye protection), 500 rounds of ammunition, and a winning attitude. Topic we will cover at the range are: zeroing considerations and techniques, fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, reloading & malfunctions drills, shooting positions, proper use of covered positions & barricades, and the proper training mindset Lunch will be provided on Day #2. Meet at the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club's trap range at 8:00 AM. Class hours for both days will be 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Preregistration is required. Class is limited to 10 shooters. Equipment to bring: - Carbine with at least three magazines - Knee and Elbow pads (optional) - Weapon cleaning kit - Rain or inclement weather gear - Eye and Ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended) - Water / Snacks - Hat / Gloves - Sun Screen- - Optical Sight for rifle (optional).
