About this course:
This class is for new or inexperienced shooters who need help learning about pistols and how to shoot. It is a three-hour class where you will learn safety basics and enjoy live-fire exercises.
We will be discussing:
• The difference between a revolver and semi-automatic pistol
• Safety rules and safe handling
• Basic operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols
• Sight picture (How to aim).
• Grip (How to hold the gun)
• Trigger control
• Stance
• Handling ammunition and how ammunition works
• Loading and unloading a handgun
• Managing recoil
• Safe storage of firearms at home
• Concealed carry options
Following this class, you will be proficient in firearm safety, have some real-time range shooting under your belt and be ready to improve your marksmanship skills. Class instruction cost is $30 plus the cost of ammunition (9MM is $13/box of 50; 380 is $18/box of 50; and 22 is $4/box of 50) and is open to members and non-members. Students are encouraged to use our supplied range pistols at no additional charge, or your own pistols (you may find ours easier to use) but must use factory ammunition; remanufactured is not allowed.
